The work I do is founded in traditional watercolor, but in recent years, I have explored the boundaries of all watermedia. I use watercolors, acrylic, inks, gouache and sometimes collage to create my paintings. I allow these media to lead me without regard to the limitations generally placed on watercolor. I am trying to strike a balance between my control and the alluring spontaneity of watermedia.
The final image is the result of this spontaneous approach and my personal vision.

Biography
Sue Allen is a artist and instructor living and working in Valrico, Florida, near Tampa. She has been a professional artist for more than twenty-five years, working in watermedia. Her award winning works are included in private and corporate collections. She is represented by galleries in Brandon, Florida and Anna Maria Island, Florida.
Sue began her formal training at the Cleveland Institute of Art and continued at Ohio University and University of Utah where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1980. Sue is proud to be a signature member of Florida Watercolor Society and to serve as President in 2005.
